Requirements Validation Under Time Pressure: Are We Cutting Corners?

One thing I learned the hard way in Requirements Engineering: Skipping strict validation always comes back later.

What became clear to me early on is that effective validation requires disciplined involvement of users and stakeholders.

When validation is weak or rushed, the consequences are almost inevitable:

• Production bugs caused by missed, misrepresented and misunderstood requirements
• Features that are “correctly implemented” but do not actually solve the stakeholders’ real needs.

What appears to be ”high productivity” often results in rework, frustration, and costly corrections later on.

This is one of several RE lessons I’ve been reflecting on recently — especially relevant when joining new projects.

I am actually curious how others handle validation pressure in fast-moving projects.
